ABOUT ME
You probably want to know who I am and why you should trust me.
Remote working has many advantages, but let’s not forget there is a real person on the other side!
I value real human connections. To give you a better idea of who I am, let me introduce myself!
I’m Giulia Lucania,
your Italian language SPECIALIST.
I have known that foreign languages and cultures were my cup of tea since I was little, and I chose to take this path when I was 13.
I have been travelling and studying languages since, and I’m not about to stop!
Based in my hometown of Palermo, Italy, you will often find me in other places around the world. So, we can also consider meeting in real life in your city, where we can discuss your project while sipping a good coffee.
My credentials are:
- Master’s degree in Specialised Translation, University of Trieste
- Bachelor’s degree in Oriental Studies, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice
- ANITI member
- SDL Trados certified

LANGUAGES
I work with Italian, Arabic, English, French and Spanish.
Foreign languages are my greatest passion, so I enjoy my job a lot and that makes all the difference!
Italian
is my mother tongue, but I don’t take it for granted. I keep my thumb on the pulse of the latest grammatical updates and any other changes in the language.
I only translate into Italian (except in particular cases) to ensure a flawless and natural linguistic output.
Arabic
is my great love. I studied it in Italy and then in Morocco and Lebanon, where I have left my heart.
During my five years of university, my studies were greatly focused on this language and culture.
English
is my first love. So much time has passed since I first started studying it that I can’t even remember. Now it just feels so natural for me to use it!
French
conquered my heart during my high school years and still makes it beat.
I have a double Italian-French high school diploma (EsaBac), and I have deepened my knowledge of it particularly during my Master’s degree.
Spanish
is just as beautiful and complicated as my own language, which makes it so interesting to me! I started studying Spanish when I was 11 and haven’t stopped since.
